A lab-grown diamond is a diamond created in a controlled laboratory environment using advanced technology that replicates the conditions in which diamonds naturally form.

Rather than being mined from the earth, lab-grown diamonds are grown from a small diamond seed using one of two methods: Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) or High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT).

The result is the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as a natural diamond, with a different origin.

At ZM Fine Jewelry, we love lab-grown diamonds for their beauty, quality, and the flexibility they offer when creating a piece that feels truly yours.

Choosing the right diamond is about finding the balance between beauty, quality, size, and budget that matters most to you.

A great place to start is with the 4Cs: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight.

Cut: Influences how beautifully your diamond reflects light and sparkles.

Color: Refers to how colourless a diamond appears. The less noticeable colour, the higher the colour grade.

Clarity: Evaluates the natural characteristics and inclusions found within a diamond. Many inclusions are microscopic and cannot be seen without magnification.

Carat Weight: Measures the weight of the diamond and is one of the factors that influences its overall size and price.

Beyond the 4Cs, consider the diamond's shape, proportions, setting, and how it looks to your eye. Two diamonds with similar specifications can still have their own unique appearance.

There is no single “perfect” diamond, the right one is the diamond that gives you the look you love while staying within your priorities and budget.

We offer cancellations up until the item is ready to ship. Once fulfilled, the made-to-order items cannot be returned for a refund. In the event you would like to modify something, our team can assist in transforming your piece as needed. 

To avoid any confusion or miscommunication, each client received a CAD (computer design) of the ring for their review and approval before we proceed with our work (cutting the gems and casting the ring). That way, you get to see exactly what the final ring will look like. If the product has a defect upon shipping to the client that was missed, we will repair it or offer an exchange (our discretion). These exchanges can only be done within 7 days of receiving the piece and the piece must be returned in new condition (no damage).

As gold is a malleable metal, it can be bent out of shape on impact or due to repeat movements. As such, yearly inspections and repairs is recommended.

At that point, the jeweler will inspect all the prongs to make sure they are securing the stone in place. We offer repairs and maintenance on rings at a fee (at cost of labor/materials).

In this case, the customer is responsible to ship the ring to us, and also cover the return shipping fee, plus any repair costs. We recommend shipping return orders via a trusted and trackable service as ZM Fine Jewelry is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen parcels.

Any and all damage should be covered by an independent jewelry insurance (buyer's responsibility) and is not covered by the included manufacturer's warranty. Repairs take about 5-6 weeks.

As we create each piece to order, please allow the following timeframes for the production. Our loose stone turnaround time is 3-4 weeks from the order date. Our jewelry turnaround time is 6-8 weeks from order date.

Please note that CAD revisions are not taken into account in this production timeframe. As such, please expect an extended production timeframe if revisions are requested by the customer. Timeframes may increase without notice during peak seasons or due to other circumstances.

Our lab-grown diamonds are carefully selected with quality, beauty, and value in mind. Unless otherwise specified, we focus on high-quality, colourless diamonds with excellent clarity and cut characteristics. Each diamond is individually sourced based on the specifications of your order, allowing us to find the best combination of quality and value rather than limiting you to a small selection of pre-selected stones.

Our team can source a lab-grown diamond specifically for you and help guide you through the different options available within your preferences and budget.

Customization is also at the heart of what we do. If you don’t see the exact ring or piece of fine jewelry you have in mind, we can create it for you. From modifying one of our existing designs to creating something completely custom, our team will work with you throughout the design process to bring your vision to life.

Because each piece is made to order and many of our diamonds are individually sourced for your order, our typical production timeframe for fine jewelry is approximately 8 weeks. Custom designs may require additional time depending on the complexity of the piece and the approval process. Production timelines may also increase during peak seasons or due to circumstances outside of our control.

You have the choice of paying for your whole order upfront, or one of our two flexible payment plans.

Pay on your own time - No interest rates or time limits!

• Available to all clients worldwide.
• This in-house plan is offered through us via PayPal Invoice.
• There is no eligibility criteria.
• There are no interest rates or time limits (you simply pay as much as you want when you want towards the owed amount).
• Once we have received 50% of the full amount, we start the work (create the CAD, cut the stones, cast the ring).
• Once we have received 100% of the ring (and the ring is ready,) we ship it out.
• With this option, you must complete your payment before we ship the ring to you.

Affirm Payment Plan

Receive the ring before completing your payments!

• Available to Canadian clients only at this time.
• This plan is available through a third-party, Affirm.
• You must apply to determine if you're eligible.
• Interest rates may apply based on the length of the payment period.
• The benefit with this plan is you can receive the rings before completing your payments.
• To proceed with this payment plan, add your order to cart, proceed to checkout & select Affirm under the Payment Section.

ZM Fine Jewelry pieces is covered by:

Lifetime Gemstone Warranty

• Applicable to lab-diamonds and moissanite gemstones.
• Covers all changes to optical properties (clarity, colour, and brilliance) of the moissanite gemstone.

Manufacturer’s Warranty

• Applicable to all ZM Fine Jewelry gold and/or platinum jewelry settings (rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets).
• Covers any errors, defects or discrepancies between the ordered/approved product and the received product.
• Covers structural (setting) damage resulting from manufacturing defects (present upon receipt of item).
• This warranty does not cover bending/warping or prong movement.
• This warranty does not cover any incidental or wear and tear damages.
• Any alterations or treatments to the ZM Fine Jewelry gold/platinum jewelry will void the Warranty.

Small Stone Replacement

• Covers the replacement or small pavé stones (under 2mm) within the first 6 months of receiving the ring in the event they fall out of your setting.

The warranties are automatically applied to each ZM Fine Jewelry purchase and are only available to the original purchaser.

Please consider protecting your ring against loss, theft, disappearance and incidental damages with comprehensive Jewelry Insurance.

In most cases, if the ring you purchased is slightly too small or large, a simple resize can be done. There are limitations to rings that require a significant increase or decrease in size, and in this scenario, remanufacturing may be necessary to maintain the structural integrity of your piece.

All pieces come with a free 180 day resize service (which is applicable to simple resizes). If your resize is needed outside of the 180 day resize service, our team quote you upon request.

We recommend shipping return orders via a trusted and trackable service as ZM Fine Jewelry not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen parcels. Resizings requiring remanufacturing entirely will be quoted by our team. Resizings take about 5 weeks.
